Linda Faye Manning, age 76, received her fairy wings on July 18th, 2024. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Faye was born on July 11th, 1948, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, where she spent her early years. Her family moved to Florida where she met her husband, Greg, in 1971 and the two retired to Shorter, Alabama, in 1997 where they shared 51 years of marriage. She had a zest for all things whimsical, creative, and festive; always being one to have elaborate yard decorations for the holidays (her favorites being Easter and Halloween) and gifting her community with beautifully made cake creations. She was an enthusiastic traveler who enjoyed learning the history of each pitstop, landmark, and restaurant along the way. She loved to host morning coffee with dear friends Jack, Jimmy, Terry, and Trina. One of her greatest passions was feeding the local hummingbirds and songbirds. Her home quickly became known for their hundreds of winged visitors each year.

Faye was a devout member of Bradford’s Chapel where she met many of her closest friends through her Bible Study Group.

Perhaps more than anything, “Nanny Faye” was a devoted grandmother. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, attending their sports events, hosting celebrations, arts & crafts, and watching favorite movies. She was always encouraging of her family’s endeavors and offered support and stability. Her door was always open and she welcomed all children, such as Tony Duncan and Brian Carter, into the family as if they were her own.

Faye is survived by her sister, Trudy Ann Bush, her loving husband, Gregory Manning, their children, Leighann [Todd] Manning, and Jay [Jill] Manning, and her grandchildren, Anastasia [Aaron] Janelle, Jake [Chloe] Manning, and Jenna Manning. Her memory will be forever etched into the hearts of her vast community of family, friends, and all those that shared in her adventures.

A public visitation will be held for those that wish to attend on Monday, July 22nd, at First Methodist Church in Tallasee at 1:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm.
