Theater slate packed for final months of '19

The Mt. Vernon Theatre is completing its year with a flourish of events stacked from now through the holiday season.

Mt. Vernon Theatre director Brooke Rigsby discussed the lineup.

"We're excited," she said. "On Oct. 19, it's the Brother Brown Band out of Georgia. We've just confirmed that Todd and the Tone Deaf Hobos will be opening for them. The show starts at 7. Doors open at 6. Tickets are now available online. I encourage people to get tickets. It's going to be fun.

"Oct. 26, we'll have the antique car show and "American Graffiti" movies, as well as hotdogs and hamburgers. Nov. 1 - 3, we'll have the "One Fire Still Burns" play. Friday is a school field trip for students. On Nov. 15, we're having a Mount Vernon fundraiser with a band, a silent auction and nice dinner. On Nov. 16 is the Harvest Festival. On Dec. 5, we'll have the "Sounds of the Season." On Dec. 9 is the Mark Lanier "Homecoming." Dec. 12, we will have the Prattville Ballet."
