Dean wins, Tigers advance to state this week

The Tallassee High School cross country team placed third at the Class 5A/Section 3 meet at Clay Central High School in Lineville. The AHSAA State Cross Country Championships wil be on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Jesse Owens Course located Oakville Indian Mounds and State Park near Moulton.

Woodrow Dean ran a 16:09.36 to finish in the top spot in the sectional race. Grant McCraney was also inside the top ten for Tallassee.

Lincoln won the sectional, followed by Alexandria and Tallassee.
