Wrestling team remains unbeaten

The Tallassee wrestling squad could not have gotten off to a better start to the season. They are 9-0.

Last week, the Tigers beat Class 7A powers Auburn (43-36) and Prattville (63-12). They followed that with a pair of wins over Prattville Christian (68-9) and Elmore County (51-26).

"Each night we have had different members of the team step up and help the team," head coach John Mask said. "I am so proud of the team's attitude and work ethic. We have a big week ahead as we prepare for the Swede Umbach Tournament in Auburn which will be one of the toughest tournaments of the year with over 32 teams attending."

Before the Swede Umbach on Friday and Saturday, Tallassee will face Beulah and Russell County on Tuesday in Beauregard. The venue is a late change to the original schedule. Weigh-ins begin at 5 p.m.
