All-star Blocker in matchup of top players this week

Tallassee soccer player Will Blocker set the school record for goals during his junior year this past season. Now he will showcase his talents in an all-star setting.

Blocker will participate in the Alabama High School Athletic Association All-Star Sports Week this week in Montgomery.

The girls and boys soccer games are being played at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex on Wednesday, July 20. The girls game kicks off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys at 7.

Blocker will play on the South squad. The striker scored 28 goals and added nine assists in 2022.

"It's a great opportunity. I'm glad I got chosen," said Blocker. "I'm really looking forward to playing against some of the best players in the state."
