Daniels is a former all-state second-team football selection (2020). He will continue his playing career collegiately with North Alabama in football next season.
The 5-10 guard led Tallassee in scoring on the basketball floor last season with 23.7 points per game. He also averaged 7.1 rebounds and 3.7 steals per contest.
He finished his THS hoops career with more than 1,000 points scored.
"I just can't say enough about how complete of an athlete Jalyn is," Tallassee head basketball coach Keiven Mixson said. "He has that rare combination of physical talent, work ethic and mental toughness that makes him very special. Everyone talks about his football talent, but he could play college basketball if he wanted. That's how good he is."
It marks the fourth straight season in Mixson's first five years as coach with an all-state selection. Jamicah Humphrey was second team in 2021 and third team in 2020. Tyrek Turner was third team in 2019. Prior to Mixson's tenure, Tallassee's last all-state player was Jerome "Junior" Jones, a first-team choice in 2006 and '07.
