Tigers to close out area play this week

By Michael Butler

The Tallassee varsity boys picked up another dominant win at area foe Beauregard last week, 71-41. The Tigers improved to 9-6 overall and 2-2 in area play.

It's the second time in as many meetings against the Hornets that Jalyn Daniels scored more than 30. Daniels had 31 in the road win. He scored 32 in Tallassee's 74-37 win at Stumberg Gym a week prior.

Tim Washington had 14 in Beauregard on Tuesday. Kayden Slay added nine points. Slay had 18 points and 18 rebounds in the first win over Beauregard.

Tallassee was without three players; Clayten Gough, Ziggy Holloway and Zavion Carr.

The Tigers will attempt to avenge earlier setbacks to Pike Road (58-38) and Brewbaker Tech (69-61) this week.

The Pike Road game will be on Tuesday, Jan. 25 in Tallassee. The Tigers travel to Montgomery to meet Brew Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
