Tallassee made it four straight against rival Elmore County, capping its season-ender with a 41-7 win on Senior Night Friday at J. E. "Hot" O'Brien Stadium.

THS senior Will Blocker scored the Tigers' first two touchdowns. On Tallassee's opening drive, Blocker scooped up a Marciano Smith fumble at the 15 and ran it in. On the ensuing Elmore County drive, Blocker blocked a Zachary Jones punt and took it to the endzone. Tallassee led 14-0.

Zavion Carr added a 58-yard scoring run and Tyler Ellis hit Jalyn Daniels for a 30-yard TD pass for a 28-0 halftime advantage.

The Panthers Dylan Weaver connected with Zion Reed for their only score of the night, a 36-yard pass early in the third quarter.

Tallassee added two more touchdowns with runs by Eng'Tavius Briskey-Chappel from one yard out and Truck Griffin on a 63-yard scamper.

Griffin led all rushers with 133 yards on 12 carries. Carr ran seven times for 101. Marciano Smith had 10 runs for 95.

"We had a tough season. We played a lot of tough teams," THS head coach Mike Battles said. "I was proud that they kept playing. We could've folded up two weeks ago, but they beat Beauregard and had a big rivarly game here and played hard. This is the first game all year that we could get everybody a lot of playing time."

13 seniors are graduating from the 2019 squad.

"I'm proud of our seniors," Battles continued. "They needed to go out this way. We maybe didn't win as many games as they hoped for, but we won some big ones. This was a big one. They're undefeated against Elmore County in their high school careers."

Tallassee ended its season with a 5-4 record. Elmore County finished 2-8.
