By Gary Buchanan
Tallassee made the long road trip to Rehobeth Friday and secured a 39-14 victory. The win improved the Tigers record to 5-2 overall, 3-1 in region play.
Offense was the name of the game as the Tigers rolled up 542 yards, over 400 of those yards coming in the first half. Three Tigers tallied over 100 all-purpose yards.
Kalvin Levett led the Tigers with 184 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries. He also completed 10 of his 11 passes for 193 yards. Trent Cochran-Gill had 153 total yards and 3 touchdowns. Markevious Matthews added 139 total yards and 1 touchdown. Matthews also intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble.
Levett’s near perfect performance earned him Spectrum Player of the Game honors.
Coach Mike Battles was pleased with the win but noted that the Tigers had some things to work on. “Rehobeth’s kids played hard but we kept making plays. We made a lot of mistakes. We’ll review the film and see what we’re doing wrong so we can get that fixed next week.”
