Two Tigers in "Spotlight"

Two Tallassee players have been recognized by the Alabama High School Athletic Association in the weekly "AHSAA Spotlight." Seniors Quenton Jeter and Markevious Matthews were featured in the weekly release of standout players.

No. 9 Tallassee defeated No. 4 Carroll in Ozark on Friday, 24-21. The win snapped the Eagles 25-game regular season win streak.

Jeter kicked the game-winning 27-yard field goal with 52 seconds left to play. Tallassee scored the final 17 points in the game after trailing 21-7 in the third quarter.

Matthews rushed for for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and caught two passes for 55 yards.

Three THS players have been in the "Spotlight" this season. Fellow senior Kalvin Levett was honored in week one in Tallassee's season-opening victory over Catholic 28-7.
