All-Star teams at district tourneys

Six Dixie Youth Baseball teams from Tallassee were scattered throughout the Greater Montgomery area last week to kick off District 5 tournament play.
The 12U all-stars went 1-2 as the top seed in their bracket after belting 12 homeruns in an undefeated run at the sub-district. The Tallassee team opened district play in Wetumpka with a loss to the host team 8-4 on Friday. The Tigers beat Prattville the following day 17-6. On Monday, the purple and gold were eliminated by Southeast Gray 14-10.
The 10U all-stars are at AUM and remain unbeaten. The Tallassee stars have wins over Metro (16-6), AUM Green (13-3) and Southeast Gray (9-7). Double-elimination play continues in the winners' bracket on Tuesday, June 20, as Tallassee meets AUM Green at 7:30.
The 8U players are in Prattville and have split their first two games. The opener was a decisive victory on Friday, 25-0. On Saturday, the Tallassee squad was on the losing end of 10-1 game against AUM. The boys will play again on Tuesday night vs. Southeast Gray at 6:00.

Tallassee's rookie all-star teams are playing all games at East Montgomery with round-robin seeding tournaments. The top two seeds from each division will qualify for the state tournament in Tuscaloosa, beginning on July 6.
The 12U team is 1-2 through Monday. The rookies fell to East Montgomery 8-5 in the opener on Friday. They beat Prattville 21-6 on Saturday. The lost to AUM 17-2 on Monday. Tallassee has a rematch with East Montgomery on Tuesday at 6:00.
The 10U rookies ran the table in the tournament with a 4-0 record. Victories came on Friday over East Montgomery (9-3) and Prattville (17-4). They beat Prattville again on Saturday (20-4) and East Montgomery for the second time on Monday (11-3).
Tallassee's 8U rookies defeated East Montgomery (18-16) on Friday and Prattville (21-5) on Saturday. They dropped their first game to Montgomery American on Monday (18-6).
