Tigers come back to win opener

Jake Burton's RBI double scored two in the top of the seventh as Tallassee survived the season opener in Lineville, 5-4 over Clay Central.
The Tigers built a 3-0 lead early behind strong pitching by Burton who went five innings striking out seven. Casey Baynes (1-0) picked up the win in relief with two innings of work.
Burton had a 2-for-4 day at the plate with a triple and the game-winning double. Baynes went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double. Reece Graham was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Tallassee (1-0) travels to Paterson Field to play Park Crossing on Thursday at 5 p.m. The game, originally slated as the home opener, was a late schedule change.
