TCS to Continue Offering Free Meals

By Michael Butler

The new school year is just over a month away. Students at Tallassee will return to classes on Aug. 11.

The system shared on Wednesday that free breakfast and lunch will be available each day.

“Tallassee City Schools will continue participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2026-27 school year,” Child Nutrition Program Director Carol Wright posted on the TCS Parent Square app.

The CEP provision of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act is a national program enacted in 2010. Meals follow USDA guidelines.

“By offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, CEP helps ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn.”
