Tallassee will scrimmage Bullock County on Aug. 14 at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium, one week before the regular season opener. The matchup will be a part of Tiger Night festivities highlighting the different levels of football from youth leagues to high school.
“Coach (Clayton) Harris and I agreed that instead of playing it like a traditional game we’re going to script out some of the situations we want to work on,” new Tallassee head football coach Eric Folmar said. “We feel this format will give us a little more control and can work on some things that both teams will want to see before we kick of the regular season. It will also allow us to get all of our guys some work in the process.”
Harris will be in his first season at Bullock County as head coach. The Hornets are coming off of their best playoff run in the history of the program, reaching the third round last year. Tallassee and Bullock County played as region foes last season with the Hornets winning 19-17. The Tigers won the previous year 21-18. Bullock County is dropping to 3A this season.

Folmar was hired last month take over the Tallassee program. He said the team will start its summer program on June 2. Workouts will be from 8-11 each morning.
“With us not doing a spring training this year it will be important for us to hit the ground running this summer in order to accomplish what we need. We have 7-on-7’s scheduled at Troy and one at either UAB or Samford. We’ll also have the Elmore County 7-on-7 on June 26 as well as OTA’s versus Trinity and Southside Selma. (I’m) really looking forward to getting our whole staff together and getting to work with our guys.”
