New Location for A.C.T.S. Pickups

As the A.C.T.S. Christmas program nears, applicants will need to know of the organization’s new location to make applications.

The former First Presbyterian Church at 514 Central Boulevard is the new location.

“We had been located in the building in Carrville for years and years,” said A.C.T.S. director Barry Adair. “This came available. It was a win-win situation. They were able to sell the building, and we were able to get a good location.”

Applications for the Christmas program will be accepted from 12-2 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on Oct. 20 and concluding on Oct. 30.

“Boxes are $30 if people are willing to support,” Adair noted. “We ask that you send toys that are unwrapped.

“Last year we had 81 applications. That equated to 140 children that got toys. We gave 100 food boxes. It’s not only for children, but the elderly.”

Those applying need to bring a picture ID, proof of residence, proof of income and social security card.
