John Samuel Howard, affectionately known as Sammy, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama. Born on July 31, 1952, Sammy lived a life rich with experiences and dedication to his family.
A proud graduate of John Patterson Technical College (now Trenholm State), he pursued a career as an electrician, where he showcased his skills and work ethic. In addition to his profession, Sammy proudly served as a veteran of the United States Navy, demonstrating a commitment to his country that remained a significant part of his identity.
Sammy was a beloved father to his two daughters, Megan Howard Darling and Rhela Howard, who will forever cherish the memories created with him. The bond he shared with his brother, Rodney Howard (Jeannine), reflected the enduring love of familial ties. He also valued his relationships with Lucretia Burt and her husband, Jerry, marking the importance of extended family in his life.
In his later years, Sammy found great joy in his grandchildren, Samantha Howard and Isabella Darling, and his great-grandchild, Esmeray, who lit up his life with their laughter and love. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Rhonda Black.
Sammy now joins his beloved parents, James Albert and Myrtle Inell Howard, and his sister, Diane Robinson, in eternal rest.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jimmy Strong, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend, who departed this life on December 29, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 4, 1946, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, he devoted three decades of his professional life to Citizen’s Hardware in Notasulga, where his work ethic and amiable personality left an indelible mark on those around him.
Jimmy was not just an industrious worker; he was a man of the outdoors, whose love for nature complemented his spirited character. He found solace and joy amidst the beauty of the natural world, relishing every moment spent outside. His passion for the great outdoors was matched only by his love for gospel music, a genre that resonated deeply within his soul, bringing him comfort and inspiration throughout his life.
His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and he was a lifelong member of Salem Macon Baptist Church. There, he was known not only for his devotion but also for the warmth and kindness he extended to others, embodying the very principles of fellowship and community. His legacy of faith and service will undoubtedly endure within the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
Jimmy’s love for his family was immeasurable. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Brenda (Sue) Strong, whose partnership and affection illuminated his life. He leaves behind his sons, Craig Strong (Sandra) and Keith Strong, alongside his cherished daughter, Christie Winslett (Kris). A proud grandfather, he delighted in the joy of his grandchildren: Meagan Strong, Joshua Strong (Sara), Jordan Strong, Kaylin Strong (Derrick Hammonds), Shelby Cox (Dustin), Bailey Winslett, and Dylan Winslett. The arrival of his great-grandchildren, Emma Strong, Ronan Cox, and Winter Hammonds, brought him immense joy, creating memories that will live on in family lore.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lloyd and Dovie King Strong, as well as his brothers, Ronnie, Roy, and Jackie Strong and nephew, Johnny Strong. Their collective spirits remain intertwined in the fabric of his family’s history.

He was an avid reader whose insatiable curiosity led him to explore a myriad of genres. His love for stories extended beyond the pages of books, as he savored his favorite television shows with enthusiasm. Music was another significant aspect of Richard’s life; he had an extensive music collection and enjoyed playing records, creating an atmosphere of joy and nostalgia that resonated with family and friends alike.
Ric cherished his family, leaving behind his devoted wife of 47 years, Eva Phillips Haley. He is also survived by their son David Haley. his wife Kelly. His daughter Ebony Price. His sisters Nanci Miller her former husband Ron Miller, and Lori Schaeffer and her husband Forrest. His legacy continues through his grandson Cosmo Haley, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Shirley M. Haley, who he held close in his heart throughout his life.

Born on September 15, 1946, Jerry lived a meaningful life, notably retired from a distinguished career in finance. Jerry was an avid enthusiast of life. He embraced a variety of hobbies and interests that showcased his adventurous spirit, including sailing, golf, and hunting. Also as a pilot, he enjoyed the freedom of the skies, and his passion for motorcycles further illustrated his love for exploration and adventure.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debby M. Walker, who stood by his side through life’s many joys and challenges. He was a devoted father to his son, Craig Walker and daughters, Kelly Shanklin (Dale) and Wendy Walker (Byron Yount) and son, Todd Larson (Erica). Sibling bonds were cherished, with his sisters, Glenda Edwards (Don), and Mary Jane Walker, being uplifting forces in his life.
As a revered grandfather, affectionately known as ‘Papa,’ Jerry is remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Leif Sletten, Liam Sletten, Jared Kiser, Samara Yount, Saylor Yount, Bodhi Yount, Eileen Owens (Gabe) and Cameron Larsen. He also leaves behind a loving nephew, John Seaman (Jennifer) along with a niece, Lori Crislip.

She is survived by her husband of eleven years, Steve Hall, who shared in the joys and challenges of their life together. Karen was a devoted mother to her son, Thomas Lee Godby, II, and a cherished stepmother to Steven Chad Hall (Heather). She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Lexia Jade Hall and Lillie Ellalynn Hall, and she loved them deeply.
In addition to her immediate family, Karen is remembered by her sister-in-law, Kimberley Smith, and her brothers-in-law, Randy Hall and Bobby Shane Halase, who all hold fond memories of times shared with her.

Mr. Mulder devoted the majority of his professional life to Lloyd’s Distributing Company in Tallassee, Alabama, before seeking other opportunities as he transitioned into retirement. His work was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, traits that he carried into all aspects of his life.
In his personal life, Donald was a man of many interests. He found immense joy in watching westerns, immersing himself in the tales of cowboys and the adventurous spirit they portrayed. He also embraced nature’s beauty; lovingly crafting birdhouses that adorned his yard, where he could spend countless serene hours observing birds as they came and went. He had a special affection for cats, in particular, his beloved Luna, whose companionship brought him great comfort and happiness.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Margaret Cochran Mulder, with whom he shared a love that blossomed on November 13, 1966, solidifying a partnership filled with mutual respect and admiration. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their daughter, Rebecca Hale (Mickey), and son, Troy Mulder (Michele). He was a proud grandfather to granddaughter, Mandy Blakely (Cory), and grandsons, Micah Brackett (Jana) and Chadston Mulder. The light of his life also shone upon his great-grandchildren, Emily, James and Luke Blakely, and Maverick Brackett, each of whom brought immense joy to his heart. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, Charles Mulder, along with several wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will cherish the memories they created together.
Donald is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Opal Woodall; father, Gamble Mulder; brothers, Julius Mulder and Monroe Mulder; and sisters, Agnes Spivey, Diane Osborne, and Judy Lindsey.

A proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Buford served his country with honor and distinction, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty to his community. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and build Coleman Cabinets, a testament to his craftsmanship and commitment to quality that resonated within the hearts and homes of many families.
Buford had a great love for Auburn Football, passionately following his team through the highs and lows of the sport. His roots in football began earlier in life, having played for The Reeltown Rattlers during his high school years, before they proudly transformed into the Reeltown Rebels. This love for the game echoed through his family and became a cherished part of their shared experiences.
He is survived by his dear children, Arthur Wayne Coleman (Cathy), Donna McGinty (John), and Jerry Michael Coleman (Penny); brother, Mervin Coleman (Terry). Buford’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren—Jonathon Coleman (Jennifer), James Coleman (Christy), Kari Busby (Lee), Heather Palmore (Chad), Nicole Ward (James), Dustin McGinty, Candie Harris, Kayla Hayden (AJ), Jodie Millwood, and Joseph Millwood—all of whom carry forward the values and love he instilled in them.
