Arts schedule coming together for next season
By Michael Butler
The McCraney-Cottle Arts Council just wrapped up its season, but plans are already underway for next season.
One of the biggest productions each year that was absent this past season; however, it is set to return for the 2018-19 season.
"We'll have Missoula (Children's Theatre) in January," MCAC executive director Mona Mills said.
Mills added that the reason for omitting the annual production last go-round was scheduling.
"It was a scheduling conflict with them and us. We missed them too."
The relaunching of the Mount Vernon Theatre also took place in January with the stage production, "Dear Mama: Letters and Music from WWII."
"There was a lot going on," Mills added. "We're looking forward to bringing (Missoula) back."
As for the Mount Vernon Theatre as a venue, Mills likes that option.
"We are hoping so," she said. "We do plan to have some events there."
In addtion to Missoula, a performance by a praise band is set as the season opener in September and a Christmas concert is slated for December.
