4 Tigers tabbed for all-state honors
Staff Report
Two Tallassee softball players have been named to the Alabama Sports Writers all-state first team. Another is a second team selection and one honorable mention.
Seniors Chloe Baynes and Belle Haynes were the first-team choices. Fellow senior Avary Lumpkin is the second-team pick. Junior Brooke Royster is honorable mention.
Baynes hit .678 in 2022. She collected 101 hits, scored 82 runs and stole 53 bases on 55 attempts. Haynes had a .432 batting average with eight homeruns. She drove in 60 runs and stole 23 bases on 24 attempts.
Lumpkin batted .485 and was the team leader in homers (10) and RBIs (74). Royster's average was .375. She added nine homeruns with 30 runs batted in.
For Baynes and Haynes, it makes three times that each have received all-state honors. |
