Softball goes 3-1 for week

The week began with a lopsided 17-7 defeat on Senior Night Tuesday vs. Wetumpka, but it ended nicely - in walkoff style on Friday.

One of Tallassee's seniors got a grand slam in the Tigers' 6-4 win vs. St. James in Beauregard. Belle Haynes cleared the bases in the seventh with the Tigers trailing 4-2 in their final at-bat.

Tallassee went 2-0 in the rain-shortened Beauregard Tournament with the other win coming against Smiths Station 10-3.

The Tigers also beat Beauregard 14-7 on Wednesday of last week. The team remains undefeated in area play (5-0). A win at Brebaker Tech on Tuesday, April 19 would clinch the area's top seed.

Tallassee is 22-6 overall and was ranked No. 2 in the most recent ASWA Class 5A Rankings.
