Tallassee head basketball coach Keiven Mixson played college basketball for Jim Sanderson at Faulkner from 1988-'92 in Montgomery. After his playing days, Mixson coached with Sanderson. On Dec. 5, he was coaching against him.

After retiring from coaching, Sanderson is back in the game again - at Alabama Christian Academy.

The matchup between the Tigers and Eagles was scheduled a few weeks ago but got scratched. The makeup was played at Stumberg Gym and won by Tallassee 50-38.

Rowen Thornton scored 16 for THS. Tim Washington had 11 points.

Sanderson was in attendance for the Mixson's induction ceremony back in October.

"It was a special night. I got to see some of my former teammates," said Mixson. "With Coach Sanderson, we won a national championship."

Tallassee fell to 2-4 with a 57-55 loss to Stanhope Elmore on Dec. 8. Upcoming games include a road trip to Valley (Dec. 12) and a home date with Holtville (Dec. 15).

During the holiday break the Tigers will play in the Talladega Christmas Tournament (Dec. 26-28).
