Tallassee stars play in North/South game

Staff Report

A pair of Tallassee players participated in the Alabama High School Athletic Association North/South All-Star Football Game on Thursday at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.

Trent Cochran-Gill and Jake Justiss played their last football game as senior last fall but put on the shoulder pads and helmets one more time on July 18. And they were on the winning side. The South won 22-19.

Cochran-Gill led all tacklers in the game with nine total, five solo.

"It's great for our school and team when we have kids that get to participate in those events," Tallassee head football coach Mike Battles said.

There was another Tallassee tie at All-Star Sports Week. THS head softball coach Pat Love was an assistant coach for the South team that swept the North 6-2 and 5-4.
