By Michael Butler

Prior to last week, there had been just five meetings between the varsity baseball programs of Tallassee and Reeltown. Two more were played among the rivals in a four-day span. Tallassee has now won all seven games in the brief series.

The Tigers took the first matchup on Wednesday in front of a lively home crowd at Southside Field, 8-4. They finished the season sweep with a 17-1 five-inning romp in what became a somber atmosphere for homestanding Reeltown fans on Saturday.

Tallassee improved to 4-4 after the weekend win. Reeltown fell to 3-5.

In the mid-week victory, Carter Davidson and Brady Mason were the Tigers' 1-2 combo on the mound.

Davidson started, going 2 2/3 innings allowing two earned runs. He struck out three and walked three. Mason pitched the final 4 1/3, recording eight strikouts with two walks.

Tallassee got off to a hot start with four runs in the first and another two in the second to take a 6-0 lead.

Chase Chumley was 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and three runs scored. Chase Webster had a double and three RBIs. Jake Hornsby led Reeltown with two hits.

On Saturday, the Tigers scored in all five innings building a 9-0 lead into the fourth and erupting for an 8-spot in the fifth. Cade Everson and Brue Milner had two hits each. Pitcher Jackson Rhodes got the win going the distance with three strikeouts and three walks.

"I would like to thank the city of Tallassee for all the support they have shown our boys this year and especially during the Reeltown series," Tallassee head coach John Goodman said. "The atmosphere was amazing and something these boys will not forget. The boys have been working extremely hard. Thank you for supporting us. We bleed purple and gold. Go Tigers!"
