THS baseball season on hiatus

By Michael Butler

The Tallassee baseball team would be preparing for pivotal area series. But, the coronavirus has postponed Alabama High School Athletic Association events.

"I think the AHSAA did a great job not jumping the gun too fast," Tallassee head baseball coach Adam Clayton said. "I hope that this situation calms and we can continue area play upon return and let our seniors as well as many other seniors across the state in all spring sports finish their playing careers."

Tallassee has 11 games scheduled from March 16-April 3 while they are out of school. Two of those series were to be played vs. area foes Valley and Beauregard.

Clayton said that he is already in conversation with other area coaches about makeups. Those area games will be necessary to determine who will be in the playoffs if the season resumes.

The Tigers are 8-6 this year.
