THS completes four-game homestand

The Tallassee baseball team played four games in three days, all at Southside Field. The Tigers went 2-2 during the stretch.

On Thursday, LAMP had a seven-run fourth to break a 1-1 tie and go on to an 11-1 win in six innings. The loss broke Tallassee's four-game win streak.

Jacob A. Ingram pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up one run with three strikeouts and three walks. Tallassee had just four hits with one each from Zak Haynes, Bobby Baker, Will Blocker and Reese Graham.

On Friday, the Tigers topped Pike Road 2-1. Devan Lee picked up the win going seven complete innings. Pike Road's Roan Robinson hit the first pitch out of the park for a homerun, but it was the Patriots only scoring of the day.

Lee scattered just four hits and struck out five with four walks. Lee's bunt single started the Tigers' seventh with Bobby Baker driving in the game-winning run. Baker was 2-for-3.

On Saturday, THS opened the day with a 9-3 win over Marianna, Fla. The Tigers had 11 hits. Baker was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Graham, Matt Justiss and Clayten Gough had two hits a piece.

Jacob A. Ingram picked up the victory on the mound going 6 1/3 innings and allowing just two earned runs with six strikeouts and two walks.

Tallassee put up eight runs against Marbury by fell in a slugfest 10-8. Baker and Gough had doubles at the plate for the Tigers. Justiss and Jake Manning had 2 RBIs each.

The Tigers (6-4) play in the FCA Tournament in Montgomery this week. Games are scheduled for Monday, March 2 vs. St. James (Riverwalk Stadium) at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 3 vs. Trinity (Riverwalk Stadium) at 4 p.m. and Wednesday, March 4 vs. Catholic (Paterson Field) at 4 p.m.
