Tallassee's area rivalry with Brew Tech will end with the drop to 4A, but the Tigers pick up some solid replacements like power Saint James

Spring alignments set

Tallassee learned in December that it would be dropping back down to Class 4A when the AHSAA released its new reclassification numbers. The return to 4A will be the first drop in classification since the 2016-17 cycle.

Last week, the AHSAA released the alignments for spring sports including baseball, softball and soccer. The are some slight differences with the area opponents in each sport due to competitive balance.

Tallassee will be in Class 4A/Area 5 for baseball with Booker T. Washington, LAMP, Montgomery Catholic and Trinity (competitive balance).

In softball, the Tigers will be in Class 4A/Area 5 with Booker T. Washington, LAMP, Montgomery Catholic and Prattville Christian (competitive balance).

THS is in Class 4A/Area 3 in soccer with Booker T. Washington, LAMP, Montgomery Catholic, Saint James (competitive balance) and Trinity (competitive balance).

Trinity was also bumped up in basketball due to competitive balance and will be in Area 5 with Tallassee, BTW, LAMP and Catholic.

In region play for football, Saint James with competitive balance will be in Tallassee's eight-team region along with BTW, Bullock County, Cleburne County, Handley, Munford and Talladega.
