Police release vehicle photo in bank robbery

Tallassee police have released photos of the vehicle used in last week's robbery of the BB&T bank on Gilmer Avenue. The crime occured on Monday, Nov. 7. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

The automobile that was used is believed to be a green mid '90s Lexus sedan.

The culprit is described as a white male, approximately 5’6” – 5’8” with a stocky build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoody with camouflage pants or overalls and dark gloves.

The subject gestured to the clerk as he removed his hands from his coat pockets. He then leaned over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of currency.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information related to this crime is urged to contact the Tallassee Police Department at 334-283-6586.
