McCraney-Cottle Arts slate released

By Michael Butler

The season schedule for the McCraney-Cottle Arts Council is set with a couple of offerings for the holiday season.

The first show will be the "Sounds of the Season" on Friday, Dec. 6. The performance includes a variety of Christmas favorites at Restoration 49 with coffee and hot chocolate being served starting at 8 p.m.

The following week, "A Holiday Who Done It" will be a Sherlock Holmes adaptation on the stage at the newly renovated Mount Vernon Theatre. The show will be on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 5:30 p.m.

A couple of annual staples are also scheduled in 2025.

In January, Missoula Children's Theatre returns with a program featuring local students at the Tallassee High School Performing Arts Center. Auditions are scheduled for Jan. 13 with rehearsals all week and a program on Jan. 18.

The Mt. Vernon Gospel Homecoming will also be back this season. The 5th Annual "Homecoming" showcases local musical talent with Southern Gospel at the THS Performing Arts Center on Aug. 2.

A date is not yet finalized for a poetry and art exhibit in the spring. There may also be at least one more event in the spring.

Individual season tickets are $45 per adult and $20 per student. Family packages for two adults and two students are $100 and $10 extra for each additional child. There are also corporate sponsorships for businesses. For more information, contact Jerry Cunnigham at 334-312-2679.
