Louie's closing

Staff Report

After more than seven years in business on Gilmer Avenue in Tallassee, Louie's Chicken Fingers is closing its doors.

The business made a post on Facebook on Monday morning.

"It is with a heavy heart and after a lot of prayer that we have to share with you we will be closing our doors on Tuesday night for a final time."

March 10 is that closing date set for the business that has served chicken, burgers and vegetables.

"It has been our honor and privilege to be a small part of the community of Tallassee. We had so many great moments over the last 7 1/2 years and we thank you for those."

Louie's was a part of the pregame meal program for Tallassee Tigers football teams and catered many sports banquets.

"We are not sure what the future holds for this location, but we thank you for all your support. To all of our faithful, loyal customers over the years you were a part of our family and we will never forget you."

The building that housed Louie's was previously the home to Acapulco, which relocated on Gilmer Avenue. The building was also a Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell.
