Tigers Overcome Slow Start in Region Opener

The first few minutes of Friday night’s matchup with Tallassee and Munford were not an indication of things to come.

The Tallassee flag football Tigers started the 2025 season with a 46-6 win at Loachapoka.

What a difference a week makes. The season opener for the Tallassee football team could not have gone worse last Friday. Fast-forward seven days.

There is an old adage. “When it rains it pours.” That was the case in Tallassee’s season opener on Friday night.

The high school football regular season kicks off this week. Tallassee, coming off a 9-3 season, will face Montgomery Academy on Friday.

The annual “Tiger Night” will showcase all the purple and gold on Friday, Aug. 15 at the recently renovated J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium.

Usually, a program takes its lumps in its first season. That was not the case with the advent of flag football at Tallassee High School last season.

The Tallassee High School volleyball team starts its season on Aug. 25 at Holtville.
