The Tallassee flag football team knocked off Francis Marion 34-0 on Tuesday at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium, continuing a perfect season with a first-round victory in the state playoffs. The Tigers improved to 11-0 extending their shutout streak to four games.
It was close for a half. The only scoring came on a pick six by Marlee Osborne, who intercepted a pass on the Rams’ sideline and darted 37 yards to paydirt in the first quarter.

The Tigers got four more picks by the defense, three by Cheyann Easterling and another by Jhala Anderson.
Easterling tossed two touchdown passes to Reese Gough and Lila Kate Fulgham. She ran for another score. Jordyn Morris also threw a TD pass to Rodericka Green that ended the game by mercy rule with a couple of minutes still remaining on the clock.
Easterling was 7 of 18 for 90 passing yards. She led all rushers with 30 yards on six carries.
Francis Marion had just 98 yards of offense. During the scoreless streak by the Tigers’ defense, all four opponents have been held to under 100 yards. Tallassee has outscored their opponents 125-0 over that stretch.

“It was a good win,” said coach Pat Love. “We struggled in the first half and made some things happen in the second half. That’s a very athletic team. They cover a lot of ground.”
Tallassee will play the winner of Charles Henderson and Satsuma next week. If Satsuma wins, the game will be in Tallassee. If Charles Henderson comes out on top, the Tigers will travel to Troy.
