The City of Tallassee has designated trick-or-treat hours for 5-8 p.m. on Halloween. There are several happenings set for Oct. 31.
The Tallassee Recreation Center is having a “Trick-or-Treat Dance Party” from 6-8. The event is a throwback to fall festivals of old, according to director Eric Phillips.
“I remember it from my childhood,” Phillips said. “I want to bring it back.”
Classic games like bobbing for apples and musical chairs will be included with a dance-off, facepainting, a bouncy house, and of course – plenty of candy to hand out.
“We’re going to have a fishing booth, haybales and Jamelle (Jelks) is going to be playing the music.”
The event is free to the public.

Downtown Tallassee is doing a trunk-or-treat at participating businesses. The Mill Collective is having “Freaky Friday” discounts from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
“Come in dressed in your costume and you’ll get a surprise from us – while supplies last,” store owner Wendi Bearden said. “Bring your kids and have fun.”
