“The girls have been working hard,” head coach Pat Love said. “They’ve been focused. We’ve got to get better each day to get to where we want at the end of the season.”
Last year’s team reached the semifinals of the playoffs with a 12-2-1 record. The two losses came against Montgomery Catholic, who won the Class 1A-5A state championship. The tie was against Booker T. Washington, the Tigers’ next opponent.
The BTW game in Tuskegee ended in a 19-19 stalemate. THS won the game in Tallassee versus their region foe, 14-7.
Booker T. is also 4-0 so far this year.
“They’re good,” said Love. “They’re tough and physical. They run the ball well and play good defense. It’s going to be a challenge.”
Game time will be 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium.
