Trade Day to Move Back to King Street

By Michael Butler

Tallassee Trade Day will be on Oct. 18. This year, it is moving back to where it all started in 1989 – King Street. The event has been held in the downtown retail district in recent years.

There will also be a new addition that will tie the downtown green space where the Hotel Talisi once stood to happenings on the other side of Barnett Boulevard.

“We’re going to hold a barbeque cookoff,” said Tallassee Chamber of Commerce executive director Carmen Rodgers. “The vendors will be set up on King Street. The cookoff will be on the green space.”

For those interested in having a booth, the fee is $40. Spots are free to Chamber of Commerce members.

“We’re looking for vendors,” Rodgers noted. “The link to register is on our Facebook page.”
