Tiger Nation Hypes Upcoming Season

By Michael Butler

The 2025 Tallassee High School football season is two months away from kickoff. The team is active in the off-season and so is Tiger Nation.

Tiger Nation was started by Courtney Thornton and Philip Beckham in 2019 and has been following the THS sports scene with a variety of online material from interviews to highlights. Those who follow them on Facebook have probably already seen some of their work for the upcoming sports year featuring players from the 2025 football squad.

“One of the things we’re working on are in-game moments,” Thornton said. “These photos you’re seeing are depictions of things that actually happened during games. AI regenerated it.”

There is an added element of stadium upgrades for 2025 including new field turf and a jumbotron scoreboard that have piqued Tiger fans’ interests.

“I’m looking forward to the new stadium,” said Beckham. “I love it.”

Thornton added that once all the work is complete that Tiger Nation will unveil a time-lapse video showing all of the improvements.

“Tallassee has one of the best facilities around,” Thornton noted. “It’s awesome.”

The anticipation is already at a peak level among fans after the Tigers’ turnaround season last year improving from 1-9 in 2024 to 9-3 under first-year coach L.A. O’Neal.

“We plan on still doing the coach’s show like we’ve been doing to let Coach O’Neal talk about last week’s game,” Thornton continued. “There will be things we put out to lead up to the games. We do have one new aspect, the Tiger Nation Vault. We’re going to put the best of the best plays in this vault. It will always be accessible.”

Tallassee will play Jemison in a jamboree on Aug. 15 at O’Brien Stadium. The regular season will have six more home games to follow. Last year’s trip to the quarterfinals was the deepest playoff run for the purple and gold since 2016.
