Church Launches Weekly Food Ministry

By Pastor Clint McBroom

First Methodist Church of Tallassee is launching a new food ministry aimed at feeding both body and soul. Starting this Wednesday, June 18, the church will offer free, hot meals to the public every week at 6:30 p.m.

“Grab & Go” is open to everyone – no sign-up or qualifications required. Whether someone is struggling financially, facing food insecurity, or simply looking for a warm meal and friendly faces, all are welcome.

Our goal is simple. We want people to know they’re loved, seen, and never alone. A well-prepared meal enjoyed in a supportive setting can provide more than mere sustenance – it can inspire hope.

Church volunteers will serve simple meals like hotdogs, chicken spaghetti, and barbeque sandwiches each week. Meals will be served in the church fellowship hall for dine-in or takeout.

The church invites anyone in need—or anyone who simply wants to share a meal with others—to join them each Wednesday at 6:30 PM. We believe the table is a sacred place and Jesus fed people with both bread and compassion, and we want to do the same.

First Methodist Church is located at the intersection of Jordan Avenue and Barnett Boulevard, right across the street from Tallassee High School. For more information, call (334) 283-2195 or visit firstmethodisttallassee.com.
