Chamber Posts Opening for Director

By Michael Butler

The Tallassee Chamber of Commerce has posted the details regarding its soon-to-be vacancy for director. Jerry Cunningham recently announced his retirement. Cunningham has served in the same capacity since 2017.

“I think if you have a heart for Tallassee, you should consider it,” said Cunningham. “Organizational and people skills are the two biggest things.”

The opening is being advertised as a part-time position.

“You put into it what you want,” Cunningham added. “I put extra time in because I enjoyed it.”

Cunningham is continuing to work while the Chamber moves its offices from downtown to City Hall. His last official day will be May 1.

The Chamber added specifics about the role of the director.
