Tallassee High School sophomore student Lydia Bird auditioned for and was chosen to the Alabama Bandmasters Association High School All-District Honor Band. She was the only THS student selected.

The final concert was held after a weekend of rehearsals in Auburn. The conductor was Auburn University Assistant Director of Bands, Dr. Nikki Gross.
