The Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center is bringing the Sweet Young’uns back to Tallassee. The group has been together since 1966 and are no stranger to the locals.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 with hors d’oeuvres being served at 5:30. Longtime radio disc jockey Dr. Sam will be the emcee. Local band, Mother Moonpie, will be the opening act.

“It’s a big Valentine’s extravaganza,” said Todd Gantt of Mother Moonpie. “The Sweet Young’uns called us and asked us if we would join them. That was a big honor. They’re kind of legendary.”
