Chamber awards given

The Tallassee Chamber of Commerce brought back its full-fledged annual awards night on Thursday at the National Guard Armory. Approximately 200 attended.
Award categories included; the President's Award, Lifetime Achievement, Making a Difference, Francis Wagnon Volunteer Award and Business of the Year.
Larry Rodgers accepted the award for Business of the Year on behalf of HDD Broadband. Pat Merrett was the Francis Wagnon Award winner. Liz Britt was the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Steve Burak was given the President's Award. Laura Leigh Peters, Jahazel Hooks and Jamelle Jelks were presented the Making a Difference Awards.
"A big thank you to the business community for their support," said Tallassee Chamber of Commerce executive director Jerry Cunnigham. "We had a great turnout. Thank you to the board of directors for their efforts to ensure that the banquet would return."
