Chamber to bring back "Taste of Tallassee"

By Michael Butler

It has been several years since the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce has put on a "Taste of Tallassee." This year it returns.

Director Jerry Cunningham has set a date for the event and a venue. It will be on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the National Guard Armory from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

"So far, everyone that I've asked has agreed to do it," Cunningham said. "Right now we have 20, but I'm hoping to a few more."

Cunningham has concentrated his efforts within the city limits so far.

"We'll step out a little bit once I make sure everybody in town has their opportunity."

In addition to a smorgasbord of food choices, Todd Gantt and The Tone Deaf Hobos will provide the musical entertainment.

Ticket prices have yet to be set.

"Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for 12 and under and three and under are free. Our intention is to set it pretty low. We want people to come out and make it a family affair. The idea in mind is to not charge any more than you would go out and pay for a meal. That's the whole idea."
