Local APC office closing

Several Alabama Power Company business offices will be closing across the state, including the one in Tallassee.

Of the 86 locations in Alabama, 40 will be closed by Aug. 30. Wetumpka is also on the list.

The office in Tallassee on Gilmer Avenue has been in operation for more than five decades and includes a showroom offering appliance sales. According to APC, traffic has declined in its business offices.

Customers who opt to pay their electric bills locally will have to remit by mail, online or go through an authorized payment location: www.alabamapower.com/payinperson.
