Wrestlers win on Senior Night
Staff Report
Senior Night was moved up to Monday from Tuesday with a state of emergency across Alabama declared by Gov. Kay Ivey. Two teams dropped out of the scheduled matches; Reeltown and Dadeville.
Tallassee took care of business with wins over Beulah 69-6 and Beauregard 53-34. The Tigers were winners of Beauregard's "Hornet Slam" on Saturday with 12 participating teams.
Head coach John Mask was complimentary of his seniors.
"We had a lot of good performances out of our seniors. The guys wrestled hard. It's a good way to end for the seniors."
Sectionals will be Feb. 8-9 at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery.
"I think that's 33-6 on the year," John Mask said. "We've had a lot of injuries. The team picks them up and somebody steps up."
