THS softball continues streak

It was Feb. 27, the date of the Tallassee softball team's last loss. Since then, the Tigers have reeled off seven straight victories.

THS (11-4) rode the momentum of its perfect run through the Purple and Gold Tournament with two more wins last week against Catholic and Dadeville.

The Tigers made up a rainout date with the Knights on Wednesday at Southside in an 8-4 victory. Jordan Walters got the win and had two hits. Lexi Love had three hits. Sinclair Cole added a pair of hits. Haylee Osborne, Sally Shipman and Chloe Baynes also had hits.

The Tigers made quick work of Dadeville in its first area game on Thursday at Dadeville with an 18-3 rout. Haylee Osborne was the winning pitcher and added a hit at the plate. Walters, Love and Baynes had three hits each. Casen Patterson had two hits. Cole and Lulu Isbell had a hit each.

Monday's scheduled area game with Bullock County was postponed and will be rescheduled.

The varsity and junior varsity teams travel to Valley on Tuesday, March 13. Games begin at 4:30.

The JV girls (9-4) were the runners-up in the Tallassee JV Classic last weekend. The Tigers went 3-1 coming up short in the championship game to Pike Road 4-3.

Sinclair Cole picked up three wins as a pitcher over the weekend. Brooke Royster also earned a win. Ath the plate, Avary Lumpkin was 7-for-13 with a double, homerun (2) and seven RBIs. Hannah Martin went 5-for-12, Ella Thrash 6-for-11, Anslee Osborne 6-for-8, Jennar Manning 4-for-9 and Cole 6-for-10.

Tallassee beat Holtville 12-4 and Park Crossing 6-5 on Friday night. The Tigers scored five runs in their final at-bat against the Thunderbirds. On Saturday, Tallassee beat Beauregard 9-0 and Holtville 13-5 prior to the title game defeat.
