The Montgomery Quarterback Club has announced its Players of the Week for games of Nov. 10. C.J. Paymon from Montgomery Academy has been selected as the Private School Player of the Week and Quinton Jeter from Tallassee High School has been selected as the Public School Player of the Week. Both players will be honored at the Club’s next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Phil Savage, Executive Director of the Senior Bowl and Alabama football radio color commentator, will be the featured speaker.

C.J. Paymon, a sophomore linebacker, had 14 tackles and 2 interceptions in Montgomery Academy’s 26-13 win over Bayside Academy. On offense, he rushed for 98 yards and had one touchdown rushing and one touchdown on a pass reception.

Montgomery Academy, coached by Gary Nelson, is 9-2 on the season and will host American Christian from Tuscaloosa on Friday in the second round of the AHSAA Class 3A playoffs.

Quinton Jeter, a junior kicker, kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime to give Tallassee a 35-32 win over Thomasville in the first round of the playoffs.

Tallassee, coached by Mike Battles, is 10-1 on the season and travels to Centreville on Friday to take on Bibb County in the second round of the AHSAA Class 4A playoffs.

The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club. The social hour begins at 5:15 followed by dinner at 6:15 and the program at 6:45. Guests are welcome at Quarterback Club meetings but guests must make an advance reservation and pay $35 at the door.
