Zavion Carr ran for 100 yards and a pair of TDs

THS wins at Beauregard

By Michael Butler

Tallassee's last three trips to Beauregard ended in losses. The last win there was in 2010. That streak is over. The Tigers were victorious on Friday 35-7 extending its overall win streak in the series to three games.

The Tigers built a 21-7 halftime lead and pitched a second-half shutout.

"We played a good game," Tallassee head coach Mike Battles said in his postgame interview. "We've (not) beat them here since I've been here. It's a tough place to play. I told them the last time that Tallassee beat Beauregard at Beauregard, this bunch was in kindergarten."

Zavion Carr, returning from injury, ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries. Tyler Ellis was 5-for-13 passing with 129 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 72 yards on nine carries with a score.

Dontae Leonard caught two passes for 73 yards and a TD. Jalyn Daniels had one touchdown raising his season total to 12.

"We had two weeks to prepare," Battles continued. "I was proud of the way we came out. That's two in a row scoring on the opening drive. Our defense played well."

Tallassee (3-2) improved to 2-1 in region play and continues its road swing in Talladega (0-6/0-3) on Friday.

"It's a big region game. We've got to get ready for the next one. We're (playing) three straight on the road, so we've got to keep improving."
