Kim Hammock and David Butler at the June Sidewalk Sale

Sidewalk Sale this weekend

By Leigh Anne Butler

After a successful event this past June, the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce is hosting a second sidewalk sale in downtown Tallassee Saturday, Oct. 17.

Local area vendors and retailers will have booths set up from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Jerry Cunningham, executive director of the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce, stated, “We already have a lot of vendors signed up.”  There will be arts and crafts, food vendors and live music.  Vendor space rental is free.

“That night we are going to have a concert at 7:00 and will have a food vendor there as well, The Wharf,” Cunningham continued.  “Todd Gantt and his group, The Tone Deaf Hobos will be performing, and it’s free.  I invite everyone to come out that evening to enjoy the concert.”

Haley and Dylan Daniel have been remodeling the Sizemore building on North Ann Avenue and will soon open a coffee shop.

“With the sidewalk sale on Saturday, we thought this would be a great time to have an open house,” Haley stated.  “Although we are not fully ready to open, we are getting close! This will be a time to come in, see our coffee shop, and taste some of the coffee we will be offering. After the open house, we will be finishing some of the smaller projects we have left to get us ready to open. We hope to be fully open by the holiday season.”
